Ron Sparks the State Agriculture Commissioner and a democrat has stated he is in favor of allowing games such as craps, roulette, card games and sports betting in the state. Republican Bill Johnson is also in favor of the games so it looks as though a new governor for the state of Alabama could see the beginning of gambling in the state.
However there are some who are opposed to adding the games in the state. Though some are opposed, both parties have stated in the June primaries that the citizens of Alabama should be able to decide if they want to add slot like electronic bingo machines to the area.
Sparks has campaigned with the plan of expanding and taxing gambling and he commented: “People deserve jobs. People deserve a quality of life, and ….I’ve had the vision and the courage to lay a plan on the table.”
