Anthony Carleo is the suspect in the Bellagio resort robbery in which he stole $1.5 million in casino chips from a craps table. Carleo has now been charged with yet another robbery this time at the Suncoast Hotel and Casino. The robbery at the Suncoast took place on December 9th and the methods used in the robbery as well as the equipment and disguise matches those used in the Bellagio robbery which took place five days later. Video of both robberies show a person that is wearing a motorcycle helmet holding a gun and in both instances the robber took off on a motorcycle.
Police released an arrest report last week which stated they have connected Carleo to the Suncoast robbery via cell phone, casino and hotel records. They also have witness descriptions of the gun as well as the backpack used in the incident.
The report stated that the suspect used his cell phone near the Suncoast right before and after the robbery and he used his computer to search for ‘tips for robbing someone’ just three days before the robbery took place.
Carleo is still in jail as he has been since his arrest on February 2nd. He has pleaded not guilty to the felony charges he faces in the Bellagio robbery, a total of seven charges in all. He is set to go to trial on January 10th of 2012 and he will now face charges on the Suncoast robbery as well.
William Terry is the lawyer working for Carleo and he has yet to comment on the association of his client with the Suncoast Robbery.
