The Blue Ridge Community and Technical College in West Virginia is currently offering dealer classes for students to learn how to become a dealer at a casino. Several facilities in the state are adding table games so the college has had to turn away thousands of people as they can only teach four hundred students at one time. There is an introduction to casino gaming course which costs $200 and it is a prerequisite to the other table games. Many of the dealer classes cost $400 and the craps class costs $700. Craps can be a more difficult game for dealers to learn. The students will have the opportunity to learn blackjack, poker and roulette which takes four weeks. Training to
become a craps dealer takes eight weeks.
The students will learn how to distribute cards for several table games and the variations of each game. Dealers need to have a great personality and they must exhibit quick recall, math skills and the ability to stand for long periods of time.
