The Northampton Community College on the Bethlehem campus in Pennsylvania is hosting workshops for those who may want to try and be a table game dealer at casinos in the area. The state of Pennsylvania has made table games legal so the casinos are going to be in need of dealers. However becoming a dealer is not as easy as it looks. Dealers must be good at math and flawless when it comes to dealing table games especially when it comes to craps. The workshops have been set up to show people what it takes to become a casino dealer.
Two workshops are going to take place at the college on February 2nd and the 8th. This is getting people ready for the first table games classes which will take place in March. The college is expecting to train as many as 1,000 candidates for dealers in craps, blackjack, poker and roulette. The dealers would be working at the Mount Airy Casino Resort and the Sands casino.
Those interested in dealing should understand that it takes a lot to be qualified. Workers must be prepared to work unusual hours, have the ability to stand for hours on end and have no felony convictions for the past fifteen years.
Those who are interested in dealing for craps should be quick thinkers and be able to understand the complex dice game. Craps dealers must be ready to interact with players while they keep track of the bets during the fast paced game. All in all being a dealer is a high stress job and the College in Bethlehem wants to prepare those who are interested in working at the casinos.
