The Deadwood Gaming Association is located in South Dakota and the group was recently in the news for trying to fight the addition of slot machines variants in establishments that host video lottery games across the state. However they have now changed their stance on the subject and are looking to enhance and grow their own games. The association is looking to have changes made to the constitution of the state. The change would be that the $100 bet limit would be raised and that craps, roulette and other games would be legalized. This would allow them to offer even more games and cater to the high rollers.
Tom Nelson a senator of the state and the president of the association has said that the association may also ask to have a law amended which was just approved last year. The law bans smoking in casinos and bars but Nelson wants to see the law changed to allow separate rooms for smokers.
Nelson has stated the association has yet to decide which proposal they would like to pursue. It will be interesting to see which area they would like to focus on. Many gamblers would like to see the addition of new games while others would like to have the opportunity to smoke while they gamble. Either way, whichever way they choose to go, they will be pleasing a large group of gamblers.
Hopefully legislature will listen to their proposals and will act accordingly. Many states in the US have begun to offer such games as craps and roulette after they were originally banned so this could mean that the association has an easy time seeing the changes made.
