The state of Florida has offered a unique gambling option in the past with gambling cruises and players have been ready for some time to see the ships back in action. Thankfully, after a two year break, gambling cruises may once again take place in Palm Beach. On Monday, Port commissioners are going to be voting on where the Black Diamond Casino Inc. of Jupiter will be able to sail the marina twice a day. The chairman of the Port Commission Wayne Richards commented that he expects that the board will agree to a ten year contract.
The Black Diamond Casino purchased a 160 foot ship just one month ago which was formally used by SunCruz Casinos. The ship is currently being refurbished and would be ready to go in just two months. With the changes, the ship would offer craps, blackjack, roulette, poker slot games and sports betting options.
If the ship is allowed to set sail, it will be the first time a gambling ship has set sail since 2010. The ship will be able to hold 550 passengers and operators are planning on serving a nice sit down dinner as well as sell tickets for admission to those who are at least twenty one.
The casino is investing at least $3 million and upwards of $4 million on the project to begin operation. The ship is expected to earn from $900,000 to $1 million each year. After the vote next week, it will known whether or not the ship will be allowed to set sail in Palm Beach.
