Law officials in the state of Colorado have to put in longer hours these days since the state made a few changes to the law books. The state is now offering raised betting limits for the game of craps and roulette at casinos in the state as well as expanded gambling hours to twenty four hours a day.Cripple Creek, Black Hawk and Central City have seen police officers making more traffic stops and answering more phone calls since the new gambling rules went into effect. According to officers the extended hours as well as higher betting limits have increased the amount of people out and about in the late hours of the evening and early morning.
Calls to each areas police station have increased considerably but without a serious incident. The police are used to patrolling the area but instead of the area being empty it is now full of people leaving and entering the various casinos.
The rule changes were passed back in November of last year but did not go into effect until July of this year. The changes have been significant and the state has seen an increase as much as sixteen percent from the previous year. So pretty much, the only downside has been the increased need of a police presence because so many people are in out of the different casinos taking advantage of the higher betting limits for craps and roulette and the twenty four hour access.
