The state of Maine has offered gamblers slot game play for the past six years and soon, players will be able to enjoy more gaming options. The gambling facilities in the state are getting ready to add table games such as craps, blackjack, poker and other games. The Hollywood Slots facility in Bangor will be adding fourteen new table games this spring including craps, roulette, let it ride poker, three card poker, blackjack and Texas Hold’em poker. There is also a casino under construction in Oxford which will open in June and they will be adding table games as well.
Since the gaming facilities will be adding table games, more job opportunities will be made available. Casinos will be looking to add card dealers, pit bosses and other positions which are connected to each game. Cashier positions, service personnel and other positions will also be available.
On November 8th, voters approved the addition of table games and in just a few months, gamblers will be able to enjoy these games. Executive Director Patrick Fleming stated that the Maine Gambling Control Board still has to sign off on table games rules before the games can go live. The board has to assign rules which will be incorporated to the existing slot machine regulations.
The board will be meeting on December 20th and they are expected to vote on the final rules for the new table games. So, it will not be long before the games become reality in the state of Maine.
