The Northern Edge Navajo Casino is set to open this January and with the opening with come entertainment opportunities as well as job openings. The casino will offer many gaming options from craps to blackjack, roulette and poker. The land casino is set to open on January 16th and will be launched by the Navajo Agency. The new casino will be the third one created at the Navajo Nation and will create almost four hundred full time jobs from dealers to service options.
Bob Winter the CEO of the Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise commented on the jobs the new casino will create by stating: “With casinos, all the commodities we purchase come from within 50 miles of the facility. With the volume of jobs created with the casino and the volume of goods and services we’re paying for, this should have a residual effect in the community to allow people to keep their jobs or add jobs in the future.”
The gaming floor of the casino will be quite large at 86,000 square feet. Tens of millions of dollars were spent to create the luxurious facility which includes craps gaming options, roulette, blackjack, poker, live table games and over seven hundred slot games.
The gaming facility will also include a full restaurant and bar as well as a food court. There will be a players club for gamblers to join as well as a gift shop. Winter commented further on the casino by stating: “We’re going to provide a good product, a very entertaining product, as well as a good restaurant product. We’re all looking forward to the opening.”
