New Casino Opens in Dodge City, Kansas

This past Tuesday a new casino opened in Dodge City, Kansas. The new Boot Hill Casino and Resort now offers the best in casino gaming including craps, roulette and slot machines. Hundreds of people came from all around to be at the casino on opening day.

When the casino opened, about one hundred people were in line to see what the casino had in store. Hundreds more people came through the casino in the first few hours of operation. This is the first casino to be opened in the state to operate under the new law that was passed in 2007. The new law sees that the casino will generate revenue for the state.

Those who didn’t get to see the casino on opening day will be excited to hear that the new casino has twelve tables of blackjack, poker craps and roulette as well as over five hundred slot machines. The casino complex operates in 20,000 square feet of space and a new 124 room hotel will be added and completed by 2012.

The casino has brought jobs to the area as well. The casino opened with 286 employees and eventually will have around six hundred employees. The casino needed to hire people to work as blackjack and other card game dealers as well as other areas of the casino.
