The state of Maine is hoping to offer their residents special classes which will teach players who to be dealers at table games. From craps to blackjack and poker, the state wants to teach them all and they are now waiting on the approval of the Gambling Control Board. It is believed that the Board will give its approval on the classes and then a new course will begin running at Eastern Maine Community College. The classes will teach students how to work table games such as craps, poker and blackjack among others.
The Hollywood Slots casino located in Bangor, Maine, is expected to be adding fourteen table games this spring which includes craps, poker, blackjack and roulette. There is also a casino under construction in Oxford which will offer table games as well.
With the two casinos adding the table games, there will be a great need for dealers. The casinos will need to hire employees who are well versed in the different casino games as well as those who know how to interact with the players.
The community college in Bangor already has a new program in place which teaches students how to work in the hospitality industry. This includes blackjack and poker dealers, security personnel and other positions related to table gaming options. Students can take these classes that are already offered at the casino and hopefully will soon have even more casino classes.
