New York Governor’s son busted for gambling

Just a few days ago New York Governor David Paterson’s teenage son was busted for shooting craps for money on the Upper West Side. Alex Paterson was caught near his school by the police and he was found carrying a debit card that had been reported missing.

Alex, just fifteen years old, was taken away in handcuffs to the 20th Precinct station house. He was questioned about the debit card and then released to his mother. Reports have surfaced that police did realize Alex was the governor’s son until someone called the Precinct later and told them.

The gambling incident was written up as a minor juvenile offense while the debit card in his wallet that was not his is still under investigation. Apparently Alex and his friends gather at the school on a regular basis to shoot dice. The kids play $1 rounds of Cee-lo, which is where players roll three dice to see who gets the highest combination.

A response from the governor was given by the Paterson spokeswoman Marissa Shorenstein. She said, "The governor and the first lady ask that their privacy is respected during this personal time."
