Most times when an arrest is made at a casino it is an officer doing the arresting. However in a recent case in Omaha, the arrested was the police officer. William Dropinski is a police sergeant in Omaha and he was recently arrested at a casino for getting into a fight at the craps table at a casino. Dropinski was at the Horseshoe casino when he was arrested for disorderly conduct and suspicion of public intoxication. Dropinski was in rare form and decided to curse the police officers and security guards and that is when he was arrested.
According to the police of Council Bluffs Dropinski was acting up at the craps table and he had to be threatened with a Taser before he would calm down. The officer was in court this past Friday and he would not plead guilty to the charges and he denies the other officers accusations of what went on at the craps table.
Because of his actions, Dropinski was reassigned. He has been removed from the supervisory role at the station on the traffic investigations unit and he has now been given a desk job. The administrators of the Omaha police station decided to reassign the officer after they had talked to investigators and they reviewed the reports from the incident. The altercation took place at the craps table at the Horseshoe Casino last Saturday night.
The officer’s decision to visit the casino was a good one but the decision to drink a little too much and talk back to security officers and police officers was not a good one and now he is paying the price for his actions.
