The state of Pennsylvania is getting ready to offer table games at their various casinos across the state. The begin offering the games, dealers must be trained in the table games and the Pocono Downs recently announced the opening of the state’s first dealer school. The Mohegan Tribe owns the Mohegan Sun at the Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre and they will begin training table game employees. This is the first casino operators to do so in the state. The state recently passed a law that allows the table games at the states slot parlors.
Over 350 people have enrolled in the dealer school and that includes 125 that are already employed at the casino. Most of the school attendees are locals that live near the Mohegan Sun. the Pocono Downs will be adding blackjack, craps, poker, roulette and a few novelty games to their casino floor.
Students of the school will be able to become certified in a number of games and they are encouraged to master at least two games. This gives student a more diverse opportunity to be eligible for a job at any casino.
