Table games were added just a few months ago to the state of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has released the revenue figures. The addition of table games was a great decision for the state as they have earned millions in revenues. The Gaming Control Board released the partial month’s figures for the nine casinos in the state and the figures show that each casino is earning in the millions. The Presque Isle Downs & Casino earned $1.5 million in July for table games and the Rivers Casino which is located in Pittsburg managed to earn $3 million in gross revenues thanks to table games.
Despite the report the state says it is too early to determine if the table games are a success. Kevin O’Toole the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Executive Director commented: “While the implementation of table games created a significant patron traffic increase in July, it is too early to draw any conclusions on these numbers or the effect of table games on slot-machine gaming.”
Each casino began to offer the table games at different times and each casino has a different market size as well as number of table games and population. The Presque Isle Downs has the smallest amount of table games yet they still managed to earn over $1 million in the month of July alone.
The $1.5 million earned by the craps, blackjack and other table games at the Presque Isle Downs created $209,940 in taxes for the state and the local share tax created was almost $30,000. The gaming board is preparing to release the full month figures for the month of August this month and this will give a better picture as to how well the table games likes craps are doing overall in the state.
