A public hearing was held on Tuesday for residents to discuss if they would like to see table games added to the Meadows Racetrack and Casino. Residents had the chance to say yay or nay on the subject and everyone seemed to be in agreement that the wanted the games added. Around ten people spoke out during the meeting on Tuesday in favor of the games. The state gaming board has yet to approve the table games for the casino. However Meadows officials are optimistic that the games will be added to the casino.
Greg Fajt the gaming board commissioner commented: “This is one step in the process but, as I said, table games, in the best case scenario, will be up and running sometime in July.”
Another hearing will take place soon in Harrisburg and then the board will vote on the issue. The Meadows is expecting to hire 550 people is the board approves the new table games. The casino will be adding blackjack, roulette and poker if approved. Craps and other games will also be added.
