The state of Maryland has a slot machine commission and one member of the commission would like to see table games such as craps and blackjack to be added to the states offerings. D.Bruce Pool told commission members that the state needs the table games to become ‘true casinos’. States around Maryland have begun to add the table games and now Maryland will be lacking when it comes to the gambling industry compared to the other states. Pennsylvania has added the table games as well as Delaware so Maryland residents will be traveling to the neighboring states if they want to play table games such as craps and poker.
Many of the states added the games to fill in gaps in their budget. The addition of table games to the state would help the $2 billion shortage the state is suffering from. But before craps and other table games can be added, voters in the state must approve a constitutional amendment.
