The SugarHouse Casino has been open for only a few weeks now and they are trying hard to bring in more players. The casino offers craps, blackjack and other table games and they are relying on a heavy advertising program to try and bring in more players. The $400 million dollar casino has to generate most of the advertising their selves since they are only mentioned a little bit on publicly funded tourism sites. The casino is expected to bring up to two million visitors a year and create $16 million in tax revenues annually.
The SugarHouse just opened on the 23rd of September and they offer a large gaming space, 45,000 square feet to be exact. There are forty live table games which include craps, roulette and blackjack. The casino also has 1,600 slot games for those who enjoy the slot machines.
To try and bring in more players the casino will be using billboards, bus wraps and other methods. The Star Group will be handling the advertising campaign and billboards have already popped up near the casino. SugarHouse also hired a public relation firm, Jack Horner Communications, to handle PR needs.
The extra advertising is needed as the tourism sites will not be able to promote the new casino heavily. The Visit Philly site will have information on all three casinos available in the area including SugarHouse but the information will be limited. The Convention & Visitors Bureau of Philadelphia also will be promoting the casino but the marketing will be limited to publications and online advertising. The casino is hoping that their extra advertising will help in attracting more players to the casino so they can enjoy the gaming offerings they have available.
