The state of Pennsylvania approved the addition of table games to their state casinos just a few months ago and casinos have been busy preparing their gaming floors for the new games. Many have already opened to the public and visitors have been enjoying the table games such as craps and blackjack. However one casino has been slow in opening. The Sugarhouse Casino which is located on the Delaware River was supposed to open earlier this year but the casino has yet to open to the public. Those who live nearby have been waiting in anticipation for the casino to open and they expected to be able to play the games before the month of September.
The Sugarhouse is a planned casino project for the city of Philadelphia and it is one of two the city has started to work on. Wendy Hamilton is the general manager of the casino and she says it should be ready for the public by September 23rd.
Hamilton stated the casino will be holding a test run on the 20th and 22nd of September to see if the casino is ready for operation. Guests will be selected for attendance and will be able to try out the table games and other casino offerings before the official opening date. The opening of this casino is anticipated by many and everyone involved is hoping the test run and opening date will run smoothly.
The second casino the city had planned is now on hold as the developer backed out of the deal. Steve Wynn the casino developer is no longer the investor of the project so the city is looking for a new investor so the second casino can be up and running as well.
