The Meadows Racetrack and Casino is hosting a special job fair two days this week in the hopes of hiring new table game dealers. The job fair will take place this Saturday and Tuesday at the Holiday Inn Meadowlands which is located next door to the casino. As many as 700 local people will be hired by talent scouts at the job fair. Most of those hired will be dealers as the casino is about to install sixty five new table games in the next few months. A table game dealer can earn up to $50,000 a year along with tips.
Table games were approved in the area just one month ago and The Meadows is looking to hire for craps, poker, blackjack and other game dealers. Those who come to the job fair in hopes of earning a position should be ready for an audition. A thirty second audition is mandatory and a resume is needed as well.
No experience is needed and those who are selected to become dealers at the casino will asked to attend a special table games school to learn how to deal cards as well as the rules of the game. "We are looking for fun, energetic candidates to join our Meadows team," said Meadows Vice President and General Manager Sean Sullivan. "We don't want people to show us they can deal cards. We want them to show off their talents in front of our staff -- and have fun. We're looking for people who are interested in a new challenge and love to interact with people."
