The Horseshoe Casino Cleveland is currently under construction and is set to open in March of 2012. Since the opening is just a few months away, the casino is getting ready to hire table game dealers as well as other employees. The Thistledown Race Track has now changed a level of their facility to train future employees for dealer employment by way of craps tables, blackjack and much more. The race track will be home to over six hundred students over the next twelve weeks as they learn how to play the games as well as deal, interact with customers and much more. Students will attend the school five days a week for four hours each day to learn the skills needed to be a craps, blackjack and other table gaming dealer.
Almost 12,000 people applied to attend the school and 4,000 were interviewed. Out of those 4,000, over six hundred were asked back to attend the school. Tosha Tousant the vice president of table games at the new casino commented: “We searched for Cleveland’s finest and we found them.”
The Horseshoe casino will be offering job opportunities to students who graduate from the academy, of which the training is free. The table game positions will be filled first due to the fact that they require the most training. Those attending the training classes will learn such skills as how to operate the games, deal and game rules for such games as craps, poker, Pai Gow, roulette, blackjack and baccarat.
