The Yonkers Raceway located in Yonkers, New York recently broke ground on an expansion that will cost $40 million dollars. The gambling facility is planning on adding casino table games such as craps and blackjack for players to enjoy. The new addition is going to be quite large and offer visitors to the area as well as residents a place to enjoy their favorite table games. The new building will have a special theme which is titled Modern New York. The space will be 66,000 square feet and create around three hundred new jobs.
The majority of the new space will be allocated to table games such as craps, roulette and much more. Forty thousand square feet will be set aside for this space while the rest of the space will be set aside for bars and restaurants.
Timothy Rooney Jr. of the casino commented that more and more people are expected to come to the facility so they want to make sure the casino is comfortable for their customers. The new facility is not only going to bring more jobs to the area but it will also be bringing more money to the schools in the area.
Rooney Jr. also stated that as the word of mouth spreads about the casino, they will still be growing. Rooney stated that they have always envisioned this happening (the expansion) and that it is nice to see it is finally here.
The expansion is going to take some time but once it is completed it will definitely benefit the area as well as those who are employed at the casino and those who visit the casino and enjoy the games.
